2008 Reports

May 10 -
Had my good buddy Billy from Brooklynn out today.  We raised about ten Bass plugging and tossing some swimmers.  A slower bite then the days before, but still an awesome day to be out on the water.  Thanks for the sandwich Bill!

May 7 -  All I gotta say is STOKED! Big sandeels in the area have brought on big schools of Bass.  Landed over 25 today.  Fluking will be insane when it opens.

May 6 -  A.M. and P.M trips both had nice Schoolie action to 28". Fluke made an appearance for us today!  One more week!

May 5 - Some healthy looking schoolies today to 26" in skinny water.  Every time out we are getting more.  Bigger Bass should be here soon.  But aint nothing wrong fighting a 26" Bass on light tackle.  Sound is showing signs of life with some bait out there today.  I'm sure there had to be some Fluke under them.

April 25 -  Last few days we had schoolie action but on the slow side.  Will see what happens after this weather passes us the next few days.

April 18 - Lot of bait around today.  Connected with some schoolies between 18 and 24".

April 15 - New Grady is launched and already covered in fish scales.  Been getting fresh bait for the season and doing some scouting.  With the warm temps and abundence of bait this week, the Bass should be here soon.  Anyone interested in a Fluke charter, season opens May 15th. Anyone interested in skinny water, the raft is ready to go.  Tight lines guys and gals and best of luck in 2008.  Be safe.

2007 Reports

Nov 21 -
Scotty out today for 2 hours of non-stop Bass fishing.  All Schoolies, but they were big and fat. Biggest was 27".  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Grady is out of the water, sold it, getting a new boat for 2008.  Thank you guys for all your support and business for 2007.  Had a lot of great trips, lot of laughs and great company.  Thank you again!

Nov 11 -
On days we could fish, skinny water is still been pretty good.  Not as hot as last month, but still getting Bass ranging from schoolies to keepers.  Blues have moved out.

Oct. 31 - Don back in action today.  He beat me big time today, landing some nice Bass to 29" and getting a few to the boat up to 36".  Welcome back Don!

Last few days -  Bass are starting there fall run. Schools of Bass finning close to the beach working schools of spearing, peanuts and squid. Had Bob and Ray into the action this week.

Oct 22 -  Had Guy onboard for his first skinny water trip.  Started and endend in non stop high gear.  No big Bass today, but we did get some huge Blues.

Oct 21 - Skinny water alive with big Blues and schoolie Bass this morning.  Cranes Neck some big Porgy's and Seabass.

Oct 18 - Big Blues dominated today over the Bass.  Bonita all over the place.  Finally hooked up on one with a salt water fly.

Oct 15 - Had first timer Tommy out this morning for some skinny water Bassing.  Non stop action, even through slack! Loads of schoolies, but a few keeper size mixed in.  Congrats Tom on your first ever Bass!

Oct 14 - Dad out this morning.  Some skinny water in the a.m. with some schoolies and huge Blue.  Then went out west with the Grady hit some rock piles for some nice keeper Seabass and Porgy's.

Been a little windy - But when we did get out some nice action with big Porgy's and keeper Seabass.  On the skinny water front,  all I gotta say is hold on to those rods!!!

Oct 6 -  Had Mike and his family out this morning for some Porgy's.  Nice bite at Old Field and a few Blues at Flax.

Oct 4 - Fished with Cary today and connected with some big Blues.  Schoolie Bass to 26" and Porgy's to 14 1/2" at Old Field.

Last few days:  Fishing was a little slow in the sound.  East wind did not help matters.

Sept 24 -   Had the chief (Dad) out today.  Some Blues and Fluke (keeper ones at that, go figure) at B11, then hit some local schoolies.  Beautiful day with Dad!  Thanks for coming out with me today, love you...

Sept. 22 - Had CT crew Al, Dan, Joe and Lenny out this morning.  Fog was thick in the a.m., but when it lifted we were off to Middle Grounds.  Not much love out there today.  Only one big blue (12lbs) and a few small ones.  Headed to Old Field after that to live line some Porgy's, but not to much love there either.  Headed to B11 and had some life.  We diamond jigged about a dozen Blues in about 50 to 60 foot of water.  On the way in the blitzes were real thick.  Lot of fun today, thanks Allen, Dan, Joe and Lenny.

Last couple of days:  Fishing has been pretty good.  Skinny water Bassing excellent with a few keeper Bass and tons of schoolies.  Oldfield had some nice action chunking bunker with Blues to 12lbs.  Blitzes all over the place.  Fall run should be awesome!

Sept 16 - Last Fluke trip of the year with Dave, Betty, Marinne and Peter.  Unfortunatley, no Flukies today.  This year was off with the Fluke.  May and June were hot, July was mostly shorts, August was non existent, and Sept was zippo.  Last year at least we had Fluke until September.  Oh well, what are ya gonna do....nothing......so now it's time to bring on the Bass full throttle! Happy Fall everyone, catchem up!

Sept 13 -  Skinny water with my Cuz's son Paul Anthony today.  Couple dozen schoolie bass to 28".  Had a blast with the light tackle, can't wait to get him out there again for some brutes!

Sept 11 - Stiff winds and storms kept us local this morning.  Fished the last 2 hours of incoming and nailed them.  Hit all the blitzes we could find and came up with a few keeper bass and blues to 11 pounds.

Sept 9 -
Last couple of days hit middle grounds and B9 for Bass.  Came up empty handed. Middle had some nice Porgy's.  Blues blitzen around Port along with some Bonita and Alby's.  Skinny water has been outstanding with Blues to 13 lbs and Bass between 26" and 34" around dusk.

Sept 5 - During the day gorilla Blues busting on the loads of peanut bunker around, later in the evening a few dozen Bass to 28".

August 29 - Killed the Bass and Blues with Dave today, two hours of non-stop action.

August  28 -  Bruce, Kim and Tommy on board today.  Bonita and Blues busting out of the inlet.  Went to Middle Grounds, but nothing doing, Hit B11 on the way in to give Fluking a shot, but all we caught was about 25 searobins.

Last few days - Blues to 11 pounds and Bass to 32".  Did not get a chance to Fluke fish, but we should be getting a new batch of Fluke in within the next week or so.

August 23 - Loads of bait in the sound today.  Dave was able to conect with Bass to 26" and 2 nice chomper Blues.

August 15 -  A.M. bite was a little tough, but we ran into some blitzes between Cranes and Flax Pond that kept us busy.  Nice job Chris, landing those Blues on Plugs.  P.M. trip was on fire once again.  We got about 26 Bass and Blues.  Bass to 30" and Blues to 13 lbs.  Most action on plugs at dusk.

August 14 -  A.M. Fluke trip with Kim and her son was a little tough with only one keeper coming onboard at 20".  P.M. bite with Marc was insane, landing over 30 Bass to 30", when the sun went down we switched over to plugs and nailed them again.

August 9 -  Stiff east wind put a damper on fishing this morning.  But despite the conditions Chris and his lovely wife (really cool wife to boot, she is a pilot)made the best of it.  Mostly all Searobins with only one Fluke but we had a beautiful day on the water in Smithtown Bay.

August 7 - Paul and Bill had a mix bag of Blues, Porgy and Fluke today.  Fluking was tough with only shorts coming in today.  Lot of fun working the Bluefish blitzes on topwater plugs.

July 30 -   P.M. trip.  Bass to 36" under the nuts.....go get um!!!!

July 30 -
A.M. trip - Fluke to 22" with Henry and John.  Gotta run, have round 2.

July 29 -   Bennet family onboard today.  Took turns doing some skinny water with Bass to 26".  Lost one big guy!  Then some Fluking at B11.  First drift picked up more Fluke (all about 19") then Robins for a  change.  Bite was definately on...but had to cut it short due to storms coming through.

July 26 - Spent the day getting bait.  Connected with some big 4 to 5 inch spearing.  Did not expect to hit that size until Sept. Needless to say I filled up a few spackle buckets.  Also had some peanut bunker in the mix as well.

July 25 - Late afternoon, fished aboard the Aqua-holic out of Moriches and nailed Bass to 30 pounds on the Bar.  Really cool stuff! Anyone interested in fishing the South Shore, give him a shout at 516-241-8601.

July 25 -  A.M. Charter had tons of Blues busting at B11.  We Fluke fished under them and caught Fluke to 21".

July 24 - Had my nephews Joey and Carl out for some Bass.  Lot of laughs on this trip as the battled keeper Bass on after another.  Hit B11 for more keeper Bass and some Fluke.

July 17 -   Have my sis and family out from Florida this week.  Sneaked out an hour with sis.  We nailed the Bass to 34", skinny and outside.  Cathem up!

July 15 -  Mike, Chris, Emil and Ray onboard today for some Fluking.  Action was good in the a.m., but had some tougher conditions later on with the winds.  Still a great day on the water, great group of gentlemen.

July 13 -   Blues were a blitzen today and underneith were some flatties for the dinner table for Mark, Michael and Terry. Beautiful day on the water today.

July 10 - Tom and his daughters Ally and Emily had some fun working some Bluefish blitzes from Smithtown Bay to Mt. Sinai.

July 6 -  Had Chris and crew out this morning.  Fished Middle Grounds for Bass, came up empty handed.  Fluke fished Port and Cedar Beach had a few Fluke to 19".  Tough day today....I tried all over.....just had a no luck. Can't wait to get back out there to get back on some quality fish.

July 3 -  Last couple of days.  Fluke to 22", Bass to 32", Porgy's to 15", Blues all over.  Nice bait has moved in, fishing will be awesome this month.  Happy 4th guys, be safe.

June 28 -  Fished this morning with Tony.  Guys, I cannot even describe in words the bite we had this morning.  Insane would not even come close.  We Bass fished for 3 hours and did not go more then 2 minutes without a hook up.  Today's Bass were between 22" and 30".  But what was really neat about today trip was every Bass we hooked into.....right behind them we could see a few following them up that were even bigger.  Breathtaking!!!!!

June 26 -
Last couple of days...Fluking was a little slow, but managed a few keepers.  A few dozen Blues up to 10 pounds and about 30 Bass or so up to 35".

June 18 -  "Skinny Water"...one word...whoaaa........mostly all keepers today between 28" and 36".  Highlight was my son Tom getting into a nice 36 incher on super light tackle
.

June 16 -
Had Loreta, Jim and their beautiful daughters Amanda and Casandra onboard today.  Fluking was tough with only some shorts being caught.  Hmm, we seem to have a ever other day bite.....interesting pattern....all in all though we had a great time.

June 15 - Had the boys from Brooklyn out today for some real nice Fluke to 25".  Bill, Boots and Carl had action in the early a.m. fishing with bucktials.  Also had a few Bass on.  Blitzes and sandeels all over the place.  Thanks for the Italian Sub guys! Looking foward to seeing you again soon, great time today!

June 13 -  Cancelled P.M. Trip because of rough seas, but did a skinny water Bass Trip with my friend Don.  We fished about 2 hours and caught about 30 Bass.  Most were schoolies between 12" and 26", but we did have 3 Bass that were 28", 32" and 36". Sorry no pics, my camera went in the drink.

June 12 -  Joyce and Bob onboard today.  Wellllllll, first trip since Fluke season openned that we got skunked without any keepers.   A ton of Fluke today, but they were all between 18 and 19 inches.  Not scared guys......Fluke are gonna bust open big time real soon.  What we had the last month was just a tease.  Go get em!

June 8 -  Had Allen onboard today.  We started off the a.m. with a skinny water Bass trip in the raft......we crushed them.  Then out into the sound and scored with some big Fluke to 25".  Awesome day on the water today.  Calm conditions enabled us to use only 1/2 bucks with the lightest spinning setup you could imagine.  It's fishing season guys....YES!!!!

June 7 -  Had a great crew out today. John, George, Dan and Joe were into Fluke most of the day. Most Fluke were about 18" to 19", but of course we managed a few for dinner betweem 20" and 22". Fished all over today.  East of Mt. Sinai and Port Jeff. Every spot we dropped we were into fish. Blues were working the sandeels as usual. With the light tide and winds today, we were able to work 1/2 white Bucks.  George was high hook today with quanity and quality...also had the most sandwiches too!

June 6 -  Skinny water Bass trip (pm).  Fished two hours outgoing.  Over 30 Bass.  No keepers tonight, biggest were a few to 26".  Had a blast with some ultra light spinning setups.

June 5 - Nice bite today with Ray, Tes, Mike and Mary.  Fluke to 24" then we switched over to Porgy's to 16".

June 3rd -  Tough bite today.  Fished east and west with most Fluke coming in between 18 and 19 1/4".  Nick did take home a 4 1/2 pounder for the dinner table. Nice going Nick, saved the day!

June 2nd -
Another awesome day on the water today. A lot of shorts between 18 and 19", but we managed some bigger ones for the cooler.  Bait today was sandeels or spearing. The sandeels the fluke or blues spit up are the BEST bait to use.  Fished east in the early a.m., then hit B11 on the way in for a few more.  Great crew today! Had Henry with his lovely wife Stephanie, John with his bride Linda (celebrating there anniversary) .  Off the record........the ladies caught most of the fish today. ;)

June 1st -
Henry onboard today for 4 keeper Fluke to 22".  Lot more shorts today then keepers, but the action was a blast with the light setups.

May 30 - Father son team Ray and Steve had a mix bag of schoolie Bass, Blues and Fluke.  Water was like a lake today, beauty of a day on the water.

May 29 - Don had a mixed bag today of Fluke (to 22"), Bass (to 28") and Blues . Lot of fish out there today blitzen all over.

May 23 - What a fluke bite we have this year! Did not think I could top yesterdays trip but we did! Pretty much non-stop action the whole morning. Joyce was high hook with the biggest at 23". Once again, no matter if you were hugging the beach line or out a couple of miles out the fluke were there, along with some schoolie Bass.  All the sandeels the Fluke spit up we used for bait, enhancing our bite that much more. Good company today, Joyce and Bob have a horse farm out east so we compared farm notes all morning. I talked about Dad's farm and they talked about there farming experiences. What more can you ask for, good conversation, great people and we did some damage on the Fluke!  God...I love my job!

May 22 - Had a pleasant day fluke fishing with the boys from Jersey. Dave, John and George limitted out the first few hours with Fluke to 23". No secret location. No matter were you dropped your bucktail today you were in from Port to Rockypoint. Some big Searobins and a couple short Bass where in the area also working the loads of sandeels in the area. Dave, thanks for feeding me today! The sausage, wings and roasted peppers where the best I have ever tasted! and that Italian bread.......forget about it!

May 20 -  Back from Boca Grande, Florida.  Got into a few 100 to 150 lb Tarpon.  It was insane! Check out the video on my home Page.

May 14th - Had Bob and his lovely sister Pat  onboard this morning for some non-stop action with one Fluke 24", a few 20 inchers, a dozen or so shorts and 3 short Bass to 26". Guys, I'm gonna be away a week, going fishing down south, catchem em up!

May 9th -  Had Meg and Carl on board today celebrating there 18th Wedding Anniverary and celebrating they did! We had had great Fluke bite today.  About a dozen shorts and about a 1/2 dozen keepers to 22".  All released for another day.

May 7th -  Interesting, no fluke bite today, was 2 days ago just a fluke???? Naaa, they will be back.  Got about a dozen small Bass on the way in with Don between 14" and 27" .  Although Don beat me in quantity, I beat him in a quality!  Lot of laughs on the water today, welcome back Don!

May 5th -
Fluke are in!  Nice bite today... All Fluke were between 18 and 21 1/2".  1/2 ounce bucks were the ticket  Fluke were spitting up Sandeels, what a wonderful thing to see.  That's it guys, the season is upon us, no turning back now!

May 4th -  Small Bass all over.

April 30 - Put the boat in April 25th.  Will be scouting the grounds this week for bait, Fluke and Bass.  I will keep you posted.

April 16 - Hey everyone, welcome back! Winter is over and time to start fishing again.  Working on the boat now, should have her in the water next week.  Looking foward to seeing everyone over the summer!

2006 Reports

Nov 11 - Last two day Bassing with Don on Friday and Mike on Saturday have been excellent.  Nice fat keeper Bass on Friday along with about 20 schoolies. Saturday, no keepers, but about 40 schoolies up to 24". Lot of bait in the harbor, spearing, bunker, mullet and shad.  Also visibility has been about 6ft.  I like when it's like that, this way you can see the Bass swimming.  Pretty cool seeing a school of bait with some hungry predators chasing them.

As the season comes to an end I just wanted to say thank you to all my clients for helping me make this year a success!  Looking foward to seeing everyone next year!  I will keep you posted on my home page for upcoming events and news.

Last few weeks -  Local action has been nothing short of excellent.  Also managed a trip onboard the CQ and came home with a bag of Tog fillets.  Still have a few raft trips planned that hopefully will get me that 30 pounder I know is out there.  Fished the south shore and landed some Bass to 22 lbs on peanuts with the "Aquaholic", cannot believe there is someone out there as nuts as me...

Oct 16th - Vinnie Ann onboard today.  Finally a nice day on the water with no winds.  Had some fun livelining for brutes.

Oct 15th -  Had Carl and Don onboard today for the first Tog trip of the season.  Hit some local rock piles with a ton of action  but mostly all shorts.

Oct 11th - Had raffle winner John (Reelfisher) out for some Bass fishing today.  Typical fall weather, windy, rainy and cold, but we still fished.  Bass action was pretty much as exciting as I last fished it, just the Bass weren't as big.  I guess I got spoiled there for a bit.

Oct 9th - Pete and Ron nailed Blues today between 32" and 34".  We lost a nice Bass on the side of the boat that we don't need to discuss how big he was!!! line wrapped under his gilplate before I had the net under him!  Snikies!!  All in all nice day on the water.  All fish today were on bunker heads and live Porgy at Middle Grounds.

Oct 3rd -  Bass, Blues, Porgies, Seabass, Bonita are pretty much everywhere now.  Best time of the year to fish.  Blues to 8lbs and Bass to 22 pounds were taken from Middle Grounds to Mt. Sinai.

Sept 30th - Hot bite at Middle Grounds with Bass in Blues, but even hotter in the Skinny waters of Long Island.  Congrats to Arnie for landing his first keeper Bass of 34"!

Sept 28th - Fishing was a little slow in the sound today, but we scored big doing some skinny water bassing!  Bass to 37", 20lbs!, Check out the pic in the photo gallery.

Sept 27th - We had a nice Bluefish bite at Middle Grounds until the Waterspout came along.  Came down about 2 miles south east of us.  Wicked stuff!

Sept 20th - Rough conditions kept us from getting to Middle Grounds.  We fish some local rock piles for a mix bag of Blues, Porgy's and one nice Seabass. But overall, sadly the fish had lockjaw for us today....

Sept 17th -  Last few days Blues, Bass and Porgy's continue to be caught at Middle Grounds.  Blue fish blitzes are showing up pretty much everywhere.  Bass are getting a little bigger in the back bays now.

Sept 13th -  Gorilla Blues in the forecast today  (livelined with Porgy's) and some big Porgy's and Seabass.

Sept 9th - Today was Mr. Elliot's first day fishing.  Other then holding the reel upside, he looked like a pro...Lots of blues today, all between 4 and 7 lbs.

Sept 8th -  Wow, what a bite today in the Middle with Vinnie Ann.  Keeper Bass to 32", Big Blues, Porgy, Seabass and Fluke.  We even had a Big Black Harbor Seal keeping us company today!

Sept 7th -  Had a mix bag today with Bob. One short Bass (25"), 1/2 dozen blues 6 lbs, 20 blues between 1 and 3 lbs, Porgy's, short Seabass, one keeper fluke and one nice bass that we lost, that I don't even want to talk about. Started off the early a.m at Middle Grounds to get the last of the incoming, nice bite for 2 hours. Then brought up the hook and drifted by B11. I think we would of gotten more fluke, but there were so many blues you couldn't really get your bucktail to the bottom without a hit. Nice day on the water today.

Sept 4th -  Spent the morning with Dad getting spearing for fluke season 2007 (providing we have a fluke season next year).  So I get Dad in my little inflatable, god, I love him dearly. Head into some grass lines.  We filled two 5 gallon buckets in a half hour.  It brought me back to my roots hearing him say to me "I will take the deep end, you go shallow". Or, "Barb,  your going to far ahead of me, slow down, or wait a second, lets eat a few of these spearing while they are alive". Yup, Dad and I ate  a few spearing raw and alive for old times sake, they weren't that bad.  Thanks Dad for spending the morning with me, I miss those times.

August 31 -  To rough to go in the a.m.  Snuck in a bass trip in the p.m. on the raft.   There getting bigger, fatter and real healthy looking.  Fiesty might I ad also.

August 30 - Dr. G and family had a great bluefish bite at Middle Grounds today.  All caught on the hook in 20 ft of water.  Nice blitzes on the way back in 100ft of water about 1/4 mile long.

August 26 - We fished the WICC Tourney this weekend.  Strong east wind kept us from getting to Middle Grounds.  So we set up in Port Jeff Harbor until the winds layed down.  We managed about a dozen blues for the day, but they were all under 7lbs.  Decent amount of fluke caught in there also.

August 23 - Fished from Port to the Light with Sallie and Don.  About a dozen blues to 7lbs and 4 fluke between 18 and 19" and one 27" bass.  Fluke on bucks and blues and bass on chunks.  Beautiful day on the water today.

August 21 - Bob and boyz (cuties I might add) were into nice bluefish action in the middle.  Blues between 5 and 10lbs were caught.  About a half dozen short fluke and one very large Porgy on a chunk!

August 19 -  Fished hard today and could not produce any big boys.  Fished all over.  A few short fluke, a few blues and a couple of short bass.  Tomorrow's another day....

August 18 - Set up chunk tonight with Tom and Roger.  Four Bass all 27", 12 blues with 4 of them between 10 and 14lbs. Nice action until the tide ran out.

August 16 - Fluking a little slow today so we went out to the middle by the Light  and chunked for Bass in about 30ft. Bunker not even hitting the bottom or was my chum pot over and we were in!  Action lasted for almost 2 hours.  Was all on the incoming tide in bright day sunshine! All Bass today to 32" and no blues. We seem to be catching more bass now under sunlight, then early morning or evening.

August 10 -  Chunking trip today with all Blues, no Stripers.  Did not get to fluke today, next time out hope to find a new batch.  Special thanks to Ron for helping me get bait  this morning.

August 6 - Fluking a little slow in the Bay today.  Need to find where they went.

August 5 - Nice fluke in the Bay again today.  Jim, Don and Ron caught fluke to 22" and a couple of blues.  On slack we traveled to a "little ripple" that hooked us into a 35" Bass.  Thanks guys for letting me take her in, it's been a while!  Also thank you Ron for seining with me this morning!

August 4 - Well today's bite was not on fire like yesterday, but Jim, Bill and Silas had a few keepers to 21" for the dinner table tonight.  Bite was nice in the a.m fishing the flats in Smithtown Bay between 4 and 8 foot.  We used 3/8 ounce Spro's with teasers.  Most keepers came on Silas's "yellow" teasers tipped with spearing.  And then we ran out of bait!!! Tragic...we went though 12 bags of spearing in a couple of hours.  Sorry guys, won't happen again!

Hit Cranes on the way back.  By then we had a stiff north wind blowing about 15 with gust to 20 it was hard to hold bottom even with 8 ounces.  Not a fun way to fluke fish so we called it a day.

August 3 -  Dog days of summer my a$$!!! Awesome fluking today with Allan, Allyson, Ashley, Gary & Jessica.   We set up in 40 foot but nailed them between 8 and 6 foot of water on 1/2 ounce bucks.  We caught more keepers today then shorts.  All fluke were between 18" and 21".  Way to go girls! Showing Dad how it's done that is.

Whew! To hot to fish.

July 30 - Bass to 29" today on bunker.

July 29 - Set up the chunk this morning,Bass to 30" came onboard  with plenty of blues.  Arnie and Ron did A okay today!

July 27 -  Just when you think Fluking might of slowed down a bit, Don brings in a 25 incher 6lb fluke today!  Way to go Don, congratulations!

July 26 - Put my charter (Ron) to work this morning seining with me.  Well it paid off, we pretty much limitted in our first drift with the fresh live spearing, peanut bunker and snappers we had.  Fluke were between 20" and 21".

July 22 - My charter this morning with Ben, Peter and Tessa was going great until the winds and storms came through.  Drifting between 1.9 and 2.6 knots does not make for productive fluking! (even with the bucket over) Before the weather came through we did manage fluke between 18" and 20" and a few nice Porgy's.

July20 -  Headed out this morning with John, Peg, Joe and Caity.  Stiff ENE wind kept us in the harbor.  No problem............we got over 30 bass and blues on my 8ft raft. Bass were schoolies between 14" and 26", with one keeper that we dropped raft side...rats!

July 19 - Some nice 3 to 4 pound fluke came onboard this mornings charter with Bob and Hank.  Also had some fun with blues.  Beautiful day out there today.

July 16 - Finished off the Noreast Tourney with Arnie and Don.  We had nice action early in the morning, but unfortunately we did not get anything over 5 lbs.  I just would like to thank Arnie, Don, Bill and Silas for a most enjoyable first fishing tourney I did.  Although competition was fierce, the fun, laughs and incredible fluke bite was priceless!

July 15 -  Fished the Noreast fluke tourney today with Bill and Silas.  We did not get any big guys for the tourney, but we did limit out with fluke to 23".

Fluking continues to  be outstanding with everyday getting better then the next.

July 12 -  No charter today, I did a fishing T.V show with the boys from Northeast Angling, it will air on Fox Sport in October!

July 10 -  Morning trip with the boys was awesome!  Non stop action the whole morning with the boys (CJ, Frankie & Alec) kicking there Dad's butt in!  Afternoon trip with Vilcor and Frank was just as good with the fluke bite pretty much non-stop.  Keepers were between 18" and 20" today, but boy were they fat!  One of my clients dropped a mini doormat today  (but it was my fault, I didn't get to him fast enough with the net)about 7 or 8 lbs.  I'm still kicking myself in the you know what over it.  Sorry Frankie.

July 9 - Hearty fluke to 20" came over the rails today.  Fluking is still insane!

July 7 - Big fluke tonight were tough to find, but Bill and Silas did manage a few to 21" and we  did "tweek" a 31" bass!

July 6 - Fished with Don today and we were just shy of our limit with fluke to 22".

July 1st - Evening Trip - Silas, Arnie and Bill limited out on fluke to 7 lbs (26").  The fluke were hitting aggressively on bucktails with "pink" teasers made by Silas himself.

July 1st - Morning Trip - Had the LaGiudice Family onboard.  They caught fluke up to 23", non stop action all day having to net 3 fluke at a time!

June 30th - Night Trip - Raft Bass trip.  Whoaa is all I have to say about this trip.

June 30th - Afternoon Trip - Paul, Alyssa and Sara caught fluke up to 20" and we were lucky to get into a Porgy blitz that resulted in 16" Porgy's.  First time I every witnessed Porgy's blitzen like blues, it was wild!

June 30th - Morning Trip - Had two lovely ladies out, Judith and Carol that caught fluke up to 20".

June 26 - Been spoiled with all the good Fluking around, but had to give Bass a try last night with Don and Willy. We only landed one bass to 26", lost several runoffs and caught about a dozen blues.  Next month the Bass should be in strong in the sound.  So back to Fluking till then.

June 23 - Morning charter with Steve and Doug was non stop action with a mix bag of fluke, blues and bass.  Night charter with Don also went well with fluke to 20" and bass to 26".  Pretty much non stop action the whole day.  Tons of sandeels in the area have made for awesome fishing, never knowing what your going to bring up.

June 21 - For a day I was suppose to be resting, didn't happen.  Limitted out with fluke all between 22" & 25". Largest 6 1/2 pounds, caught by me, imagine that....Had sis on board and she got her first keeper bass.  We caught bass today 26", 28" and 30".  Don't know how many blues.  What a day!  Fishing is on fire guys!

June 19 - Well we were suppose to target fluke today, but we couldn't get our bucktails to the bottorm without hitting a blue.  We even hooked into to a 26" striper.  Thanks Guy and Steve for letting me fish today, I cannot contain myself when we are in 8ft of water, a nice rip going, sandeels spritzen and bass and blues blitzen!  God I love summer!!!

June 18 - Despite all the boat traffic today the Sauer family still managed fluke to 22" , with four year old Amanda getting the biggest.

June 17 -  Today's fluking topped last night, now I really cannot type! Tarr family knocked em dead today......Five year old Jamie kicked her Dad's you know what in with a 25 incher!

June 16 - Fluking on fire! I'm to excited to write the details!!

June 14 - Fluke to 6lbs came in today.  They were hitting before we got our bait to the bottom!  Fluke are in! Yabbbadabbadooo!!!!

June 12 - Blues on the chunk this morning.  All between 23" and 26".  I tried a new location fluking today, ton of action but all shorts.  Almost every fluke was 17 1/2".

June 9 - Some nice fluking this morning with fluke in the 3 1/2 lb range.  Most action I have seen since the openner.

June 5 - Fished with Dan, Dillion and John tonight.  Beautiful night out on the water.  We fished Mt. Sinai, Port Jeff, Rocky Point and Wading River, our efforts produced one keeper fluke, 15 shorts between 15" and 17", 5 gigantic skates, and about 20 searobins.  But the important thing was I was able to  get the Yankee game in for the crew.

May 31 - Fog kept us in from fluke fishing in the sound.  Fished local for over 40 schoolies up to 26".  Schoolies are getting a little bigger, maybe next time out we will get a keeper.

May 28 - Well you couldn't ask for a more beautiful day on the water today.  Todays charter managed a 5 lb fluke at Cranes, but other then that fluking was on the slow side.  Ton of bait in the water.  With the weather getting warmer and the bait in place Fluke fishing should bust open this week!  I have Weds open if anyone is interested.

May 19 - 26 - The fluking has been slow.  We had alot of rain and high winds that I feel did a number on the water condtions.  With the weather getting warmer this week and light winds I think fluking is going to bust loose.  On a funny note.....me and my girlfriend fished in the pooring rain and fog last night.  We were the only 2 nuts out there, but you know what we had a blast, catching and releasing over 30 schoolie bass and blues.

May 17 - Fluking was slow today, just a few shorts.  Some cocktail size blues breaking on the way in kept us busy.  Think the water needs to settle from the last week of storms.

May 8th - 30 bass caught and released.  All schoolies up to 22" May 7th - First fluke charter for the season.  Beautiful day out, but unfortunately the bite was slow.  Just a few shorts to 17".

May 5&6th - Schoolie Bass have invaded the area.  All shorts, but it's action and a lot of fun on light tackle.
